This is a retroactive notification that a Rufous Hummingbird was seen in mid-July in Elk Lake by Lionel Venne. This species is listed by the Ontario Bird Records Committee (OBRC) as requiring documentation. A report has been filed with OBRC, and we are awaiting a reply. The species has been tentatively added to the Timiskaming checklist, pending results of the OBRC review. I will keep you posted via this thread of the results from OBRC.
