A pair of Great Horned Owls has been hanging out along the St. John Baptiste Creek in Kenabeek for almost a month now. The pair is calling many evenings around dusk, either from the creek valley, or up near the railway bed north of Henwood Rd 3. I haven't actually seen anything more than a shadow as one flies from one tree to another, but the call is pretty distinctive. One of these days, I'm going to see if I can locate their daytime roost. Probably won't find it, but I'll enjoy the effort anyways.
