    Dark-eyed Junco

     First dark eyed junco on the deck, eating niger with a bunch of redpolls in the snow, only 1 male so far

     2 Juncos total, and if im not completely mistaken, a passerella iliaca, Fox Sparrow!, i have some pictures on the lower end of the spectrum of quality, but ill be loadin them onto flicker and then on to here for proof

    Great job on the Fox Sparrow Gavin!  Great to have gotten photos too.  By the way, please remember to indicate the actual location of your observations each time you report, as most people will not know where you live.

     Sorry about that, I live in dymond township on Toblers Road, just up from Masterfeed and Ecole St Michel, the next house in on that road from the high way, Murphy Motors, if you've ever head of it, you can see that large silver Garage from the highway. Odd spot for that bird in the middle of open area eh? Just Niger and a low grade of mixed corn millet and black oil out, with the redpolls as well as the Juncos and the fox sparrow eating like there is no tommorrow.

    As of this morning, I now have 6 Juncos in my yard in Kenabeek, Henwood Twp..

    Gavin great work on the fox sparrow if i am not mistaken this is the first sparrow you have identified perhaps some at your cottage. For sure this is the first sparrow for terra XV and what a sparrow to id as the first ,spectacular !!! Keep up the good work and well done to see you posting regularily to this site hopefully you will inspire other students to use the site more particularily students who are not yet in the terra program like many of Mr. Miltons students.

    several juncos at Gilles as well. We also have hundreds of redpolls still. i suspect that these may be some of the redpolls that ventured further south this winter as very few have bands on them as we have banded over 500 here this winter. The lack of banded birds also suggests that the ones that were here have moved on as well.
