    European Goldfinch

     

    One male European Goldfinch at my house out in Dymond at the feeder, first time having it at my place.

    Cool Gavin. It looks like this bird is increasing, at least according to anecdotal evidence from Timsikaming District.  I still have a hard time believing that these are all escapees. The normal life span of these birds in the wild can't be much more than 8 years or so, I would think. So if the major escape/release event took place in 2002 as purported, then we must be getting close to the end of the original escaped birds, but observations seem to be increasing in frequency instead of decreasing.

    ya, no kidding. As long as they don't have a negative effect on the natural fauna, I'm cool with them.

    no pictures, me and my camera went in the marsh one too many times, dads camera was in the truck
