Pam Yantha observed two European Goldfinches in her yard in Englehart for a brief visit on September 17th. They had come in with a flock of Goldfinches, and only stayed for a short time. Here are a couple of photos that she shared with me.  I wonder if it was one of these same birds that was at Serge's house in the spring.

 It looks like the same "Asian Variety" as I had. No black markings on the head. The one shown on the species page is different than the ones shown here, and the ones I posted I posted a picture of on this site. (By the way, should I have received acknowlegement of receipt from the OBRC for the record I sent them?)

They usually send an acknowledgement pretty quick, but only report on their conclusions once a year.
