26 boreal owls banded tuesday Oct 20th

We were excited the other night to catch more boreal owls in one night then we did all of last year infact we have banded more boreal owls this year than in all the other yeras combined. The secret to our success is that we are playing boreal lure tapes to bring in the boreal owls. As the number of sawwhets have been tapering off we are converting to boral lures. Boreal owls have been poorly researched over the years but are quickly becoming a research focus for us at the marsh. Anyone having any questions regarding these rarely seen birds should get in touch with me directly as space and time for sightings is becoming limitied.
