Yesterday, during the pre-count scouting for the Haileybury CBC, Mike Werner & I, and my son David, at the Haileybury Waterfront, came across this bird which we believe to be a Townsend's Solitaire. One bird that comes close to it is the Northern Mockingbird, rare in this area, but previously documented in our area. The clincher may be the white eye-ring. Also, it does appear to sit like a robin (thrush) The tail may not be as long as on a Mockingbird. I don't think it requires an OBRC report, as it seems they are interested only in pre 2001 sightings... Here are a few pictures of the bird.
