    Baillie Birdathon

Just registered for the 2010 Baillie Birdathon. Ann and I did our first Birdathon last year. We counted 51 different species on a route that took us around Timiskaming from Swastika to Matachewan, Elk Lake, New Liskeard, Belle Vallee, Hilliardton, Larder Lake, Kirkland Lake and back to Swastika. I have issued a friendly challenge to Mike Werner to beat our modest record (should be no problem for the Master). We had a lot of fun last year and are looking forward to another long sprintime drive. Any day in May is allowed - we will pick a weekend day with fair weather and hope to meet more Timiskaming birders on the trail. Any offers for a lunchtime connection would be welcome. It would be nice to see some of the faces behind the avatars.

    Re: Baillie Birdathon

I'm interested in the Birdathon, either as a sponsor, or as a participant, or both. I have a Ravenous appetite, am forever interested in lunches, and willing to participate there too. We'll see what we can make happen...

Hey Serge, maybe you and I could partner up and form a team?

    Date for Baillie Birdathon

It's looking like Sunday, May 16th will be my most available day in May for the Baille Birdathon.  How is that date looking to other interested parties?

    Re: Date for Baillie Birdathon

That's good for me, Mike. It's a great time to find birds. The only shadow that may be cast is that of the opening weekend of the walleye season. But, Hey! People will have caught their limit on the Saturday, and should be ready for birding on Sunday...
