    white-breasted nuthatch

After several dry years, a White-breasted Nuthatch appeared in Swastika today. Is it me of are we seeing an influx of WBN lately? Dawson Point, Esker Park, Swastika have joined Mark Milton's perennial pair in the last few months. There is also one that has been hanging around feeders in Timmins this winter.

Siskins are now outnumbering both Redpolls and Grosbeaks at the feeders. Two Black Ducks at Firemans Park yesterday.

same in Rouyn, Val d'or this winter has more WBN this winter. It probably has something to do with ash borer invasion down south...

After I posted first message, I checked eBird sightings and there are more recent (red) flags in the north than there are in the south - maybe a trend.
