    Purple Sandpiper near Ville-Marie, Qc

    Hi,

4 Purple sandpipers were seen at the Vieux-Fort (facing Mission St-Claude, Ont) on nov 18th.  They were taking a nap on the shore close to the edge of the point.

Just a reminder that it's actually the best period of the year to find that species on the big lake ('till it freezes!).  It loves rocky shore facing the wind so it can be seen all around the lake now.

Hi Johnatahn Bravo that you found our website how did you discover it? I was going to let you know . Do you have any suggestions for the checklist and any comments for the species description would be appreciated. Mike is looking for pictures of many sopecies we do not have phot's for. The catch is that they need to have been taken in ontario. Yoiu should get in touch with him about the details. As well do you have any ideas for additons to our links page? Salut la

    Hi Murph,

I have at home a database containing over 30,000 sightings of birds in "our" Témiscamingue, east of the lake.  The older datas are from 1967.  I can provide the arrival and leaving dates we have for migrating species.  Most of the early and late dates come from Ville-Marie area.

I also have seen some birds on the lake flying to your side, so I know they were present in both provinces such as Parasitic Jagr, Caspian Tern and Black Vulture (by heart).  They're all accepted by Qc rare bird commitee based on the description given at the time they were seen.  I'll prepare a folder if you wish to use it.
