Yves Vivier of New Liskeard reports seeing a large, low flying swan over Mary Street in New Liskeard on Sunday afternoon of the long weekend around 3:00 pm, heading towards the big lake. The bird was calling, and we will try to identify from calls later today. Yves does not recall seeing a yellow patch near the eye, but was not aware of this identification cue and so was not looking for it.

Audio identification confirms that this was a Trumpeter. No wing tags or other evidence of being a tagged or banded bird was observed.  The bird was alone, and was an adult bird.
