    new arrivals at the marsh may 6th

    Today we banded the following new species northern waterthrush, gray catbird, western palm warbler, nashville warbler and we saw prhaps 20 barn swallows flying amongst a swarm of tree swallows  also banded a sharp shinned hawk today very excitng. Hope to have more reports monday. Tuesday we banded lincoln sparrow  and today the terra kids were charmed by catching a=their first chipping sparrow and hermnit thrush but the thrill was getting up close to a northern flicker....more to come

     That puts a dent in our list! Good stuff! Bruce, could you confirm the date as the 6th or 7th for the Waterthrush etc.? Thanks.

    Serge, Murph called me at work yesterday to tell me about these, but I didn't get a chance to post them until after he already had.. They were indeed caught on the morning of the 7th and Tuesday the 4th respectively.

    Blue-headed Vireo

    Murph forgot to mention in his post that they also banded a Blue-headed Vireo last Tuesday, May 4th.
