Today, I saw my first Bluebird, and first Eastern Kingbird of the year from the Hilliardton Hwy. On Tuesday, in North Bay, I had some time to kill, and walked over to the very edge of Lake Nipising. I was in a field with a few bushes. I kept hearing these individual birds singing away. They were quite close to me. Try as I might, I could not see them, let alone get the binoculars on them. I did get a quick glimpse of one little brown bird. I think they were close to the ground in the bushes. If I circled the bush, the song would then be coming from the next bush, or from the field. I could not readily identify the song, although there might have been a similarity to that of a Northern Waterthrush. I had to go before figuring it out. Oh Well! Maybe next time...
